Releasing the Trailer: Tales Of A Broken City
Releasing the trailer for Episode 1 of Tales Of A Broken City is a milestone that represents much more than a finished edit. This project came together through long hours, last-minute location changes, problem solving on the fly, and constant creative adjustments. There were moments where it felt like everything was stacked against the vision but those moments are exactly what shaped this story.
From the beginning, Tales Of A Broken City was meant to be a feature film. I went into production with that mindset, that scale, and that pressure. But after shooting a short film connected to the project, I had to be honest with myself. I wasn’t fully creating the look I imagined, and I wasn’t telling the story visually in the way I knew I could.
That realization changed everything.
Instead of forcing the project into a format that didn’t allow it to breathe, I made the decision to turn Tales Of A Broken City into a web series. A format that gives the story room to grow. A format that allows experimentation, evolution, and most importantly connection. I wanted people to grow with this project, not just watch a final product and move on. I wanted the journey to be part of the experience.
The trailer for Episode 1 represents that shift. It’s the foundation of the world, the tone, and the visual language I’ve been building toward. It’s not perfect and it’s not meant to be. It’s honest. It’s raw. And it’s the beginning of something that will continue to evolve episode by episode.
The Gear Behind the Trailer
To bring Tales Of A Broken City to life, I relied on a lean but intentional setup focused on flexibility and cinematic control:
• Blackmagic Pyxis 6k Cinema Camera
• DZOFilm 20–55mm Lens for B cam
• Prime Lens (for low-light and tighter emotional moments)
• Gimbal for movement and atmosphere
• Tripod for controlled, grounded shots
• Practical lighting and available light to keep the visuals raw and realistic
Every piece of gear played a role, but the real challenge and reward was making the most of what I had in unpredictable environments and limited timeframes.
Moving Forward
This trailer is the official introduction to Tales Of A Broken City is just the start. The goal is to continue building this world, refining the visuals, and telling stories that feel lived in and honest. This series is about growth both on screen and behind the camera.
Thank you to everyone who’s been watching, supporting, and believing in the process.
Here it is.
